Longer than the Imperial Cities Tour, this itinerary provides the extra
time to visit the Imperial Cities and to discover the Moroccan South with
its populations, rhythms, melodies and music, and leads you comfortably
to the gates of the desert.
Saturday – Flight London to Casablanca
Arrival at Casablanca Mohamed V airport. Welcome, assistance and transfer
to the hotel in Casablanca for check-in, dinner and overnight accommodation.
Sunday – Casablanca to Rabat
Breakfast and meeting with the tour guide before departure at 9.30 am
for sightseeing Casablanca, the business capital of Morocco, with external
visit to the Hassan II great mosque before strolling along the Ain Diab
corniche. Break for lunch (*) followed by departure to Rabat, the administrative
capital, with the splendid Mohamed V Mausoleum. Check-in hotel for dinner
and overnight accommodation.
Monday – Rabat to Meknes to Fes
After breakfast departure to Fes with a stop at the Roman ruins of Volubilis
and the sacred town of Moulay Idriss. Break for lunch (*) followed by
departure to Meknes, the Moroccan Versailles, which was founded at the
end of the 17th century by Moulay Asmail. The sightseeing will include
Bab Mansour, Hari Souani and the old medina. Continuing to Fes for check-in
at hotel for dinner and overnight accommodation.
Tuesday – Fes
The whole day is devoted to the sightseeing of Fes, the oldest cultural
and spiritual city of Morocco. You will see craftsmen working in the age
old traditional ways with the possibility of buying items of local manufacture.
Break for lunch (*) with continuation of the tour in the afternoon. Return
to hotel for dinner and overnight accommodation.
Optional: Excursion to Sound & Light Show £10 per person.
Wednesday – Fes to Midelt to Erfoud
Breakfast and early departure to Midelt via the Berber village of Azrou
which is known for its handicraft cooperative. Break for lunch (*) before
continuing the journey through Midelt, the Ziz river and a series of fortified
villages before arriving at Erfoud for check-in at the hotel, dinner and
overnight accommodation.
Optional: Excursion by Land Rover to the Merzouga dunes.
Thursday – Erfoud to Tineghir to Ouarzazate
Breakfast and departure to Tineghir via the village of Rissani with visit
to the ruins of Ksar Abbar. Continue on Tinjdad road to the Todra Gorges
with their impressive escarpments. Break for lunch (*) continuing to Ouarzazate
via Kelaa El M’gouna and the Dades valley. Check-in at hotel for
dinner and overnight accommodation.
Friday – Ouarzazate to Marrakech
Sightseeing tour of the area with visits to the Tifoultout and Taourirt
Kasbahs before departure to Marrakech via the Ait Ben Haddou village.
Break for lunch (*) and visit to the ancient Kasbah. Continue to Marrakech
via the Tiz-n-Tichka pass (2260m) and Taddert. Check-in at hotel for dinner
and overnight accommodation.
Saturday – Marrakech
The day will be devoted to discover Marrakech the second oldest imperial
city known as the ‘Pearl of the South’ with the Saadian Tombs,
the Koutoubia Tower, the Bahia Palace and the Menara Gardens. Break for
lunch (*) and in the afternoon exploration of the souks and the Djemaa
El Fna square with its various entertainments. Return to the hotel for
dinner and overnight accommodation.
Optional: Chez Ali dinner Fantasia.
Sunday – Marrakech to Essaouira
Departure to Essaouira (previously called Mogador) via village of Chichaoua.
Break for lunch (*) followed by tour of the city and harbour with its
fine examples of both Moorish and Portuguese art. Check-in at hotel for
dinner and overnight accommodation.
Optional: One hour sea tour by boat.
Monday – Essaouira to Casablanca
Departure to Casablanca via El Jadida with a stop at El Oualidia. Break
for lunch (*) before continuing along the Atlantic coast route for an
orientation tour of El Jadida. Continue to Casablanca for check-in at
hotel for dinner and overnight accommodation.
Optional: It is possible to return to Marrakech or Agadir instead
of Casablanca. Please contact our reservations department for details.
Tuesday – Flight Casablanca to London
After breakfast depart hotel for transfer to Casablanca Mohamed V airport
with assistance to the boarding formalities.
