About Morocco

General Information

ACCOMMODATION AND RESORTS

We have done our utmost to be accurate in our accommodation and resort descriptions, but due to maintenance, refurbishments, low season, bad weather, public holidays and religious festivals, facilities and entertainment may be temporarily withdrawn without notice. Information on public holidays and religious festivals is available from the relevant Embassies.

BAGGAGE

It is your responsibility to ensure that all your belongings are recovered from the airport on your arrival and placed on the correct transfer coach or taxi and also to ensure the same from your hotel on your return journey home. Only one piece of hand luggage per person is permitted in the aircraft cabin. Please note that the baggage allowance is 20kg per person. Amounts over this will incur an additional charge. Those with special items of baggage e.g. golf clubs, should advise us prior to travel. In the unlikely event that your baggage does not arrive off the aircraft – you must report it immediately to the baggage-handling agent and ensure that you receive a copy of the 'Property Irregularity Report' (PIR).

BOOKING CONDITIONS

Your holiday is subject to our Terms and Conditions contained in our Booking Form, which you will be required to sign when you are booking your holiday. A copy of our Booking Form and Conditions is available on request.

CAR HIRE

Please ensure you have a valid UK drivers licence. This must be produced at the time of collecting the car.

Schedule and CHARTER FLIGHTS

Some flights may touch down at different airports on the inbound and/or outbound flight. Please call for details. All passengers on our flights must comply with following conditions:

  • Each passenger shall ensure that he/she is in normal health, capable of undertaking the flight contemplated and is in possession of all documents etc, enabling him/her to comply with all formalities, regulations etc, whatsoever and wheresoever both in respect of him/herself and his/her baggage and is responsible for all dues and charges in this connection.
  • Each passenger shall ensure that his/her baggage does not contain anything of a hazardous nature or of a nature prohibited by any country or state involved and that animals of any kind do not accompany him.

CHILDREN

As a general rule, child-sharing prices are based on children that have not reached their 16th birthday for accommodation and 12th birthday for flights, prior departure from the accommodation property. However, as there are exceptions to this rule, you are advised to check at the time of booking.

CLIMATE TABLES

(Generally shown at the beginning of each destination). This information is given as a guide only and, where possible the information has been obtained from the Meteorological Office.
In some cases it has been necessary to use information supplied by the appropriate Tourist Office.

Temperature – the first value shown is the average maximum daily temperature in degrees Centigrade. This usually occurs in the early afternoon.

Sunshine – The second value shown is the average daily hours of sunshine. N.B. All values have been rounded to the nearest whole number.

COMFORT AND SAFETY

Experiencing a different way of life is part of the enjoyment and intrigue of travelling abroad. However, it is worth remembering that when travelling abroad you will be experiencing different cultures and safety and hygiene standards, together with a different attitude to that which you are used to at home.

It is widely recognized that UK standards are amongst the highest in the world and many developing countries, including the Mediterranean and North African countries, have yet to adopt the level of transportation, accommodation and service standards that we take for granted. It is often difficult, for example, to directly compare local hotel grading systems to our own 'star' ratings. In some cases, local regulations, which are aimed at preserving the historic nature or aesthetic beauty of properties, can prevent an hotelier from providing a level of fire safety we are familiar with.

At Sunway Holidays we are actively working to raise overseas safety standards and will do our best to make sure your holiday is as safe and trouble free as possible. However, we urge you to familiarise yourself with fire and safety notices at your hotel.

PLEASE NOTE: most pools and beaches do not have lifeguards.

COMPLAINTS

Any complaints you might have must be brought to the immediate attention of your representative. Complaints can most easily be sorted out for you on the spot whilst you are in the resort. If not handled to your satisfaction within a reasonable time, should then be submitted in writing to Sunway’s office in Slough as per the Booking Conditions.

COTS

Cots and high chairs in some hotels may not be up to your usual required standard. We would advise you to check carefully before use. There may also be a local charge payable for use, payable locally. Please check at time of booking.

CURRENCY/CREDIT CARDS

The local currency in Morocco is Dirhams. Please note that credit cards may not be widely used in all countries especially for small sums and some hotels do not accept credit cards for payment of extras. Please check with the establishment as to their policy.

DELAYS

Flight delays are the responsibility of the Carrier (airline) and subject to their Conditions of Carriage. Charter flight timings are subject to change.

DOGS AND CATS

Dogs and particularly cats are a regular feature in some resorts encouraged by visitors who feed them scraps. Hands should be washed after contact with animals.

ELECTRICITY

Electricity in all destinations is 220/240V as in UK, but an adapter plug is necessary.

FOOD

Most hotels offer buffet style Continental breakfast (bread, jams, tea or coffee) and lunch. Dinner may be buffet or semi-buffet, where the main course is served but the other courses are on a self-service basis.

Half Board: bed, breakfast and dinner. Please note that meal times are strictly adhered to.

Vegetarian meals: Vegetarian catering in hotels should be requested at time of booking but cannot be guaranteed. Vegetarian meals on flights must be requested 72 hours before flight departure but cannot be guaranteed.

HEALTH

At the time of going to press no inoculations were compulsory to enter the destinations in this brochure, but as conditions may change without notice it is advisable to consult your doctor at least 4 weeks prior to departure. It may be advisable to be immunized against Typhoid, Polio, Tetanus and Hepatitis.

Stomach upsets are frequently caused by over exposure to the sun, unusual food, cold drinks, alcohol, too much fresh fruit (particularly orange juice) and other factors to which our bodies are unaccustomed. The nearer you can adhere to your usual routine the less chance you have of suffering from stomach complaints.

HEALTHCHECK

Material Fact and Medical Declaration.
Applicable to all insured persons or other persons travelling in the party or immediate relatives that are not travelling. You must comply with the policy document health conditions or declare to insurers all known material facts/pre-existing medical conditions by telephoning their Health check service. Refer to your policy for this telephone number.

HOTEL ACCOMMODATION

It is significant to remember that descriptions of hotel rooms in this brochure apply to standard twin-bedded rooms. Single rooms are usually a standard twin room for sole occupancy, but may be smaller rooms of inferior quality. Some accommodation has twin or double rooms that can take a 3rd or 4th bed. Please note in many cases the extra beds may be sofa beds and therefore space can be limited. The allocation of rooms is at the discretion of the hotel. Requests for double or twin beds should be made at the time of booking although compliance cannot be guaranteed.

Requests for specific rooms or positions within the hotel cannot be guaranteed although every effort will be made by the hotel to comply with your specific requests. It should be noted that supplements may apply to these requests and this should be clarified at time of booking.

HOTEL CLASSIFICATION

The grading of hotels and apartments can be puzzling to travelers. These standards or ratings should not be compared with those of other countries. Responsibility and liability for classification lies solely with the relevant authorities of each country and does not necessarily bear any relation to the prices we have negotiated individually with hoteliers. The authorities can change a grading without prior notice. There are differences between the standards of different hotels of the same grade as is found in most countries in the world. This brochure merely states the grade of hotels at the time of going to press.

HOTEL FACILITIES

Some hotels list air-conditioning as a feature and many countries have an energy conservation programme so you may find this facility may be sporadic and only functions at certain times of the day/night. It must also be noted that some hotel facilities may, at certain times, not function fully. This may be due to a number of reasons e.g. a pool being emptied and cleaned etc. These decisions are part of normal hotel running and are at the discretions of the hotel management. If, however, we are made aware of any closure or of any other alterations to the hotel description, we will pass this on to you as soon as we can.

Satellite television may be provided at some hotels but we cannot guarantee what channels are available. Usually, there is not more than one English channel.

Some hotels may charge for sun mattresses and parasols locally. It is also advisable to take your own beach towels.

INFANTS

There is a set charge of £40.00 for infants that have not reached their 2nd birthday before the date of return. Infants must sit on an adult’s lap during the flight.

NOISE, ROADWORKS AND BUILDING WORKS

Neither the hotel or apartment management nor Sunway Holidays accept responsibility for anything outside the property’s grounds.

PUBLIC BEACHES

Generally, beaches are considered public property and, therefore, neither Sunway Holidays nor the hoteliers can be held responsible for their condition or safety.

SUNWAY HOLIDAYS INSURANCE

We insist that our clients are adequately insured before traveling. We have, therefore, arranged comprehensive travel insurance with Select Insurance Intermediaries Ltd. It is very important that you are adequately insured. If you are not taking out insurance with Sunway Holidays, you must show us that you have taken out appropriate holiday insurance.

This information must be passed to your travel agent so that the details can be added to your booking.

This website contains a brief summary of the cover provided by our insurance. A policy document will be sent with your booking invoice. Please note that it is the responsibility of each client to ensure that they receive an Insurance Policy from us and acquaint themselves with the terms and conditions contained therein.

TICKETS AND TIMINGS

Tickets are issued approximately 14 days before departure. Please check your tickets thoroughly as flight timings are subject to change.

Check-in time is 2 hours before departure and if you miss your flight as a result of your late arrival we will do our utmost to offer you an alternative way of getting to your resort. However, all costs incurred will be your responsibility. If we are unable to offer you alternative flights, full cancellation charges will apply. Seat only passengers must reconfirm their return flight times 48 hours prior to departure.

TIPPING

Tipping is expected in bars and restaurants in most countries.

VACATING ROOMS

You may have to vacate your room by 09h00 on the day of departure. Kindly check with your hotel on arrival.

WATER

We would recommend that you drink bottled water in all destinations.
