Kasbah Bab Ourika - Atlas Mountain

The Kasbah Bab Ourika sits dramatically on a hilltop at the apex of the Ourika Valley, guarding the gateway to the snow-capped Atlas Mountains. The 360 degree panoramic views are magnificent with vistas of the snow capped (in winter) Atlas Mountains, Berber villages and the lovely valley below. The hotel was built to be eco friendly using local rammed earth construction techniques. The thick walls provide natural cooling and solar panels provide the hot water.

The 15 stylish en suite bedrooms and suites are individually decorated in cool mellow colours. Some have fireplaces and others private terraces.  Views from the rooms are delightful.

The cuisine is excellent – a wonderful fusion of Moroccan, Berber and International all prepared using locally grown organic ingredients. Meals are served in the gardens or in the charming colonnaded restaurant. Guests can also dine in their rooms or suites.

The hotel is a wonderful place to relax in: sit on one of the many sunny terraces, simply enjoying the stunning view, plunge into the delightful pool, unwind in the Hammam and have a massage or wander the lovely gardens. For local colour visit a saffron farm or visit the Monday Berber Market. For the energetic there is hiking, trekking, biking, rafting, and riding from the Kasbah or skiing nearby in the Atlas Mountains.
