Day 1: To Ouarzazate via Marrakech
Direct flight to Marrakech and then drive to Quarzazate, 200km from the city. Here is the untamed Sahara – wild and unpredictable, full of beauty and stunning scenery. In the far distance snow clad peaks glint in the astonishingly bright sunshine. Overnight Berber Palace.
Day 2: To Merzouga
Experience the real desert sleeping in a Bedouin Tent and eat under the stars. Take a camel ride into the desert, to watch the magnificent sunset and listen to the music of the sand. Overnight Desert Camp.
Day 3: To Tineghir
Crumbling Ksour and mile upon mile of date palms makes the shaded palmery of Tineghir quite delightful. It’s an ideal place to relax with only the sound of the wind and birds to break the silence. Two nights Kasbah Lamari
Day 4: Excursion to the Todra and Petite Gorge
Drive through lush countryside dotted with almond and pomegranate trees, in a 4x4 to the impressive Todra and Petit Gorge. En route endless groves of palm and olive line the road. The impressive Todra Gorge is a small canyon cut into the pink and green walls of the High Atlas. Chiselled through the mountain the gorge is only 10 metres wide in parts and 600 metres long, however the piece de resistance is the spectacular cliff face soaring to 300 metres. The area, particularly the Petite gorge, is considered to be a climber’s paradise!
Day 5: To Marrakech via Ait Benhaddou
Return to Marrakech via Ait Benhaddou, a stunning village, made up of several small fortresses – Kasbahs – soaring 10 metres skyward. A few families still live within the earth baked walls. The scenic beauty has attracted numerous movie makers to shoot in the area. Overnight Riad Nogo.
Day 6: To London
Return to London on direct flight from Marrakech. |
